Although these sites have been built and are maintained by avid auto racing enthusiasts and high school sports fans, they are not an amateur effort. Hundreds of hours each month are dedicated to gathering and editing photos and videos, writing stories, and creating original graphics.
This is a commercial site, intended to make profit for the publisher. The materials found here are unique to this site and the associated sites presented by this publisher. As a result, it's very easy to recognize a copyright violation when found. Remember this if you are tempted to lift a photo, graphic, or video and use it without permission and proper attribution to the authors. For example, if you take a jpeg photo from an album and run it over to WalMart and ask them to make an 8x10 - well, you may think you are saving the few dollars it would take to buy it at the photo booth, but remember that in doing so you have committed an illegal act. Just ask... please?
Privacy Policy
Essentially, all of the drivers mentioned within this site have granted permission to use their images and personal data without compensation by virtue of their registration with Crystal Motor Speedway. The CMS management extends that permission to the publisher as part of its function to promote racing at the CMS facility. This includes the use of action photos when creating graphics and edited photos used here and offered for purchase at the photo booth.
The publisher may provide reprint rights to other publications, or provide original materials to other publications. This is also covered under the original rights waived by the driver/participant. This means you may not make demand for compensation for any still photo, video, graphic, or original story if the publisher so chooses to publish in media other than this web site.
